My approach

My goal is to provide a safe, trusting, nonjudgmental, and respectful environment in which my clients are able to work through their difficult issues. I promote positive and lasting changes for my clients by helping them to develop insight and providing them with real tools and coping skills so that they can overcome their obstacles and achieve optimal mental and emotional health. I am direct, yet I allow my clients to set the pace of the therapeutic process. I strive to help my clients to feel good about themselves, their relationships, and their place in this world.

Why I love this work

I believe that there is no greater experience than helping someone overcome their obstacles in order to help them to achieve happiness, success, and fulfillment. I have deep empathy for others and I love watching my clients become the best version of themselves.

What I want for you

My goal for all of my clients to learn real coping skills and techniques so that they can overcome their obstacles and learn how to be their own “therapist.”

My specialties, background, and personal interests
I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which is a short-term, solution-focused type of psychotherapy that helps individuals to understand their relationship between their thoughts, their emotions, and their behaviors. CBT aims to help clients learn positive approaches to viewing themselves, their relationships, and their world. CBT helps clients to “learn to become their own therapists” so that they have the tools and techniques to not only overcome what is bringing them to therapy, but to overcome obstacles in the future as well.
On a personal note, I love all animals, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends.
