Office Policies

  1. Contact. The best way to reach me for routine matters (rescheduling, etc) is at dr@sfstress.com. You can also call me at (415)275-1422, though it usually takes longer for me to respond. I’ll try to get back to you by the next business day.
  2. Cancellations. I have a 48-hour cancellation policy, except in the case of illness or family emergencies. You will be charged for a late cancellation unless we can reschedule you within a week of the original appointment date. There is no guarantee that this can be done, since it depends on availability. In any case, if you will cancel an appointment, please provide as much notice as possible.
  3. Insurance and Billing. I’m happy to send you a superbill for reimbursement. Please send your request to dr@sfstress.com. The superbill should contain all the necessary information for submission to your insurance company. Sometimes it takes a few days to assemble these, so please be patient.
  4. Social Media. As a policy, I do not accept “friend” requests on Facebook. As a psychologist, I am ethically restricted from soliciting or responding to Yelp reviews. Please bear this in mind if you are considering providing online reviews.
  5. Confidentiality. Everything we discuss will be kept confidential, with the following 3 exceptions:
    1. If you report current or former child or elder abuse, I am legally required to report it to the state of CA
    2. If you report an intent to harm yourself or others, I am legally required to call 911 or other authorities
    3. If my records are requested via a court order, I am legally required to turn them over
  6. Starting and stopping. In order to start appointments promptly, it is important that we end appointments at their allotted time. However, if your appointment starts late because of me, we will continue on for 50 minutes, or we will add the balance of the time to your next appointment.
