My approach

My approach is warm, supportive, and emphasizes connection. I believe that you are the expert of your life, in need of a guide when you become stuck and cannot move forward on your own. Trust is critical within this relationship, and I work to ensure that you feel safe, supported, and heard. I utilize a variety of evidence-based practices, dependent on your needs, which are adjusted as needed throughout treatment. I believe that therapy should be something that you look forward to each week, as a stress reliever, time to reflect and connect, and a way to rebalance yourself for the following week.

Why I love this work

I love witnessing client growth and change, helping people become the best versions of themselves. Life can be complicated and unexpected, and everyone needs support through difficult times. I enjoy helping clients figure out the core issues leading to their distress and determining the best route to resolve them. It is exciting, challenging at times, and always a different experience for each person. It should also be fun and full of humor, to bring balance to the process and the challenging times.

What I want for you

I want you to gain insight and awareness into what is causing the issues in your life, as well as skills to work through them more effectively. I want you to feel happier and healthier, with the confidence that you can tackle the difficult days and moments when they arise, with support always available when it becomes too much. I want you to feel good about yourself, who you are, and the choices you make moving forward in your life, so you can have the most meaningful and fulfilling life that you desire.

My specialties, background, and personal interests

I specialize in working with adolescents and clients who have experienced trauma. I have worked with clients of all ages in a variety of settings, including community mental health clinics, university counseling centers, residential treatment programs, and private practice. Outside the office, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, and binge watching TV shows.
