My approach

My approach to therapy is collaborative, warm, and non-judgmental, creating a safe space to explore. My methods include mindfulness, exploring root issues, and building on the client’s strengths. I am holistic and creative, seeking whatever solutions may work best for my client. We identify goals, and also look at the body-mind-spirit connection and ways to promote balance and resilience. If requested, I incorporate personal spiritual/faith practices into therapy. I draw on a variety of approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Psychodynamic, Trauma-informed, Acceptance and Commitment, and Mindfulness.

Why I love this work

I love the work of therapy because I love people. I have experienced firsthand the progress and instillation of hope that can take place in the therapeutic relationship. I have also witnessed the incredible resilience and strength of each and every person. To me, it’s the coming alongside the client that makes the difference. This is my dream job!

What I want for you

I want you to experience the transformative power of the work of therapy. I desire for you to know yourself, recognize your progression, and be empowered by your strengths. I also want you to gain life changing resources and insights you can take with you that help you to be more equipped and fulfilled.

My specialties, background, and personal interests

My clinical training includes internships at UCSF Psychiatry and UCSF Cancer and Brain Tumor centers. I completed my Master’s in Social Work (Clinical track) at Boston University, graduating Summa Cum Laude. I completed my undergrad with a BS in Psychology from University of Georgia. I knew from high school that I wanted to work in the mental health field and began with volunteer work where I visited women with trauma experiences in prison, co-facilitated therapy groups in substance use recovery programs, and mentored teens. In my master’s program internships, I supported patients and their families through terminal cancer, worked with the unhoused, and those struggling with mental health and addiction. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, being out in nature, and dancing like nobody’s watching :). I appreciate adventures and I also enjoy my quiet time with a good book and a cup of coffee. I love all things science and enjoy listening to podcasts.
