Natalie Cardario, AMFT

Psychological Associate, 142232

I work with adults and adolescents who are dealing with anxiety, stress, depression, and the impact of past trauma. Many people I help are feeling stuck and dealing with anxiety and repetitive thoughts, leading to avoidance, procrastination, and difficulty making decisions. I also work with clients who are grappling with high standards and expectations while dealing with feelings of not being enough and a fear of disappointing others. I help clients to solve their difficulties and to feel empowered to face life’s problems.

My approach

My approach is compassionate, warm, active, and curious. I primarily draw from evidence-
based therapies for anxiety, depression and trauma, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

(CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). I am committed to
ensuring that your time in therapy is productive and meaningful and we will work together to
determine which approach will work best for you.

Why I love this work

I enjoy helping clients gain a clearer understanding of themselves and their circumstances,
so they can see how their emotions and behaviors make sense, while also offering hope that
change is possible. It’s a privilege to offer unconditional support, walking alongside clients
as we work together to navigate and resolve their challenges.

What I want for you

I aim to support you to get curious about how past experiences are impacting your current
patterns, struggles and barriers. This will help us to work together to develop a personalized
plan to break out of the current cycle you find yourself in and towards the life that you would
like for yourself. I hope to be able to support you to feel empowered and able to cope with
life’s stressors, allowing you to live a life that allows you to connect with your values and the
things that matter to you the most.

My specialties, background, and personal interests

I completed specialized training in CBT in the UK, my home country, where I worked as a
CBT Therapist. I have worked in the UK and California in community mental health settings
and clinics where I have had the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients and
problems. I started my working life in a high performing tech company and so I have an
understanding of what it can be like to balance the demands and pace of working in this
kind of environment. I specialize in working with anxiety disorders and have a keen interest
in continuing to build my skills in evidence-based therapies to ensure clients have access to
therapy that we know can work really well. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, spending time in
nature, exploring new places for coffee and good food and cuddling my two fluffy cats.
