Workers’ Compensation Mental Health Services

Specialized Psychological Care for Injured Workers

At SF Stress & Anxiety Center, we provide compassionate, evidence-based psychological care for individuals whose emotional well-being has been impacted by workplace injury or trauma. Our clinicians are experienced in the California Workers’ Compensation system, including Medical Provider Network (MPN) participation, authorization procedures, and coordination with treating physicians, attorneys, and claims professionals. We help injured workers recover emotionally, regain function, and return to meaningful life and work, while giving referral partners confidence in professional, timely, and compliant service.

Why Mental Health Care Matters in Workers’ Compensation

Work-related injuries don’t just affect the body. They can trigger emotional distress, anxiety, depression, or post-traumatic stress.

When psychological symptoms go untreated, physical recovery can stall, claim costs increase, and return-to-work outcomes decline.

Treating mental health early helps everyone involved:

  • Faster and more complete physical recovery
  • Reduced medical and indemnity costs
  • Improved compliance with medical treatment
  • Shorter time to return-to-work

Our clinicians specialize in psychological injuries under Labor Code §3208.3, providing effective care that aligns with WC regulations and medical-legal standards.

We work with:

  • Injured workers coping with stress, anxiety, depression, or trauma after a workplace incident
  • Patients whose physical injury has led to psychological distress (“physical-mental” claims)
  • Employees struggling with chronic pain, adjustment, or return-to-work anxiety
  • Medical providers, attorneys, and case managers seeking experienced mental health partners for WC cases
