My approach

My approach to therapy is like that of a supportive friend or mentor. I focus on solutions, and I will always remind you of your strengths. I often give assignments to work on between sessions.

Why I love this work

I am passionate about my work and I acknowledge the courage it takes to open up about your life. I see myself as imperfect but constantly transforming into a better me. My hope is that you never feel judged or unsupported by me, and that our work together can help you attain fulfillment and peace of mind. We could all use more support with navigating through this challenging & complicated life!

What I want for you

I want to be more for you than simply a therapist who listens. My goal is to help you overcome your critical inner voice and be more self-compassionate. I ask questions. I am engaging. I am on your side. I want to help you see how much you truly matter and that you are made for greatness.

My specialties, background, and personal interests

I trained at San Diego State University, San Francisco State University, as well as UCSF. I received my PhD in Psychology in 2011. My postdoctoral clinical training and work over the past 11 years has included running groups and teaching classes. Importantly, I have been committed to my own healing journey.

I am a humble person, who comes from a dysfunctional childhood herself, who was not born into much financial privilege. My father was illiterate and nobody in my family went to college. I was a single mother for many years, and now I am raising 4 children in a blended family with a kind and healthy partner. I am living the “life is all about plan b” quote. I love children and animals, and I am a die hard coffee fan. I am a vegetarian, I am 100% sober, and I try to connect with strangers daily. I am here to make this world a little bit better.
