My approach

My approach is client centered, empathetic, collaborative and fairly active. I capitalize on clients’ strengths and do not believe that anyone is broken or “sick”. Just as the negative patterns have been learned and reinforced, they can be healed with the right tools. I use Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and mindfulness-based psychotherapies to help my clients.

Why I love this work

I find it extremely rewarding to see my clients develop freedom from anxiety, grow an ability to assert themselves and live more joyfully. I enjoy being of service and to create meaningful therapeutic relationships with clients. As a psychologist I have a privileged position to witness someone’s inner journey of growth and healing, which serves to strengthen my faith of how resilient human beings are.

What I want for you

Above all, I want for you to discover and reach your own therapeutic goals. I am there to help support your growth every step of the way. I want you to finish working with me feeling a greater sense of self-acceptance, self-love, peace, calm, confidence and control over your symptoms. Things that have previously been very hard or impossible to do will be able to be done with greater ease. I aim to help you gain self-help tools and strategies that will serve you for years to come.

My specialties, background, and personal interests

My background includes working with various forms of trauma, complex work situations, anxiety, emotional eating, and depression. Before private practice, I worked at UCSF Faculty and Staff Assistance Program and UCSF Trauma Recovery Center. I am trained in EMDR and am currently in the process of meeting requirements to become EMDR Certified. I am certified in Emotional Freedom Technique. During my free time I enjoy the outdoors, yoga, reading and spending time with my family.
