My approach

I have been working with a very diverse and vulnerable clientelle for over 18 years and continue to appreciate the resilience of my clients. I utilize a trauma-informed, collaborative, strengths-based approach in partnering with my clients to tackle areas of their life where they feel blocked. I draw upon LGBTQ-affirmative, minority stress model, and feminist therapy models to explore all dimensions of what confronts my clients.

Why I love this work

Every experience I have with a client is a gift. I believe every person already possesses a true knowledge about themselves and are so resilient. I am here to be an ally in supporting you in reaching your full potential. If you feel you do not conform to the “norm” or continue to look like you “have it together” yet continue to feel insecure, I am here to support you on a new empowering journey.

What I want for you

I believe you are resilient and are your own expert of you. I also appreciate we can be our own worst critics. I am commited to collaborating with you to become present to exploring and challenging the barriers that may prevent you from reaching your true potential.

My specialties, background, and personal interests

My specialities include working with the LGBTQ+ community (exploring sexuality and gender as fluid, overcoming internalized homophobia and transphobia, supporting families in being allies), treating substance abuse issues combined with depression and anxiety and assisting in overcoming intergenerational trauma.
