Child/Adolescent Therapy

About Child Therapy

Using a child’s natural language to help them express emotions, process experiences (like trauma or behavioral issues), and develop coping skills, in a safe, guided environment with a trained therapist.

Therapists recognize underlying issues that lead to anger, anxiety, sadness, fear, and sometimes aggression in children and work on children’s ability to express themselves safely. Our therapists have seen results with behavioral issues, trauma and loss, social struggles, developmental and learning difficulties, and underlying mental health issues.

Although each therapist may have their own personal approach to their expertise, generally speaking the child will go through an assessment by providing the child's history while the therapist builds a rapport with your child. This will help lead the way for skill-building and coping strategies.

It is important to consider therapy as a viable option whenever a child is experiencing difficulties that affect their overall well-being and functioning. Coupled with testing, therapy can help with emotional support, coping strategies, behavioral improvements, academic performance, trauma and grief processing, social skills development, self-esteem, and early intervention.
